I love Toilet paper roll crafts. As you can see by some of the fun ones I have on my page including a Dinosaur Toilet paper roll, Squirrel Toilet paper roll and even Mermaid Toilet paper roll. I’m a huge fan of these!
Toilet paper roll crafts are a classic go-to for parents, teachers, and caregivers because they use materials you probably already have at home. This particular craft transforms a plain cardboard tube into a bright and whimsical parrot with just a few basic supplies like construction paper, glue, and googly eyes. It’s a fantastic way to upcycle and give new life to what might otherwise be tossed in the recycling bin.
What makes this craft extra special is how customizable it is. You can go with traditional parrot colors like red, green, and blue—or let the kids get creative and use any colors they like. Add feathers, glitter, or even little pipe cleaner legs for extra personality! It’s a great opportunity for children to express themselves and build fine motor skills while having a blast.

This project works well for a variety of settings: preschool classrooms, homeschool units, birthday parties, or lazy summer afternoons at home. It pairs beautifully with lessons about birds, rainforests, or recycling—and once finished, the parrots make adorable decorations or puppets for pretend play.
