How to make Candy Corn Slime
To say that my kids love slime is the understatement of the year. They are absolutely crazy about slime. My 11 year old daughter will basically make slime out of anything. I’ve never seen a bigger collection of slime on a human being than on her. She also kills me because she hides it all over the house so that her brothers don’t get into it.
So that’s why we decided to make this fun recipe together. We took the basics from our Marshmallow Play dough and ran with it a bit. Making this fun Candy Corn Slime recipe.
Candy Corn is actually an old candy recipe.It dates back to the 1880s. The Goelitz Candy Co. began making it in 1900 before the family-run operation changed its name to the Jelly Belly Candy Co., which still produces candy corn today.
Because it’s fall and you basically have an overabundance of candy corn EVERYWHERE, I knew I had to get creative with this sugary treat. We’ve had a lot of fun learning with Candy corn. My 5.0 had a blast counting candy corn and we’ve been using it on a regular basis for many learning activities.

Most important, that’s why we were excited to figure out how to make candy corn slime.
What you’ll need to make Edible Candy corn Slime
To make Candy corn slime you’ll need the following ingredients:
- 1 marshmallows
- 1 cup candy corn
- 1-2 Tablespoons of coconut oil
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar, as needed
- 1/2 cup of corn starch
Directions for making Edible Candy corn Slime
This slime is a little different than most of the edible ones I have done because of the way the candy corn holds the heat. To begin combine the marshmallows, candy corn and coconut oil. You then proceed to microwave it.
I did it in increments of about 40 seconds and kept stirring,
until it combined. It will look like this:
It will be pretty liquidy in consistency, almost like a caramel. I then combined the powder sugar and cornstarch. I created almost a well in the middle of the combined powders and introduced the candy corn “syrup”.
And began kneading it in. Handle carefully because it is very hot right out of the oven. So please be careful because you will burn yourself. This step definitley needs to be done by an adult.
After you’ve mixed it in it will be ready when it’s not sticky anymore.
This is a fun project but you must be warned this edible slime taste like taffy and after playing with it for a bit will probably resemble it more than anything else. So just make sure your kids don’t eat it all.
If you feel it loses its luster a bit, dab a little bit more coconut oil on it to help give it shine. If the slime starts stiffening up microwave it for about 10-15 seconds to make it stretchy again. Don’t hand it over to your kids right away because this thing gets hot.
Candy Corn Slime is a fun edible slime that will be a blast to make with kids (although I recommend they watch more than touch because it gets really hot.
Most important, they will love playing with it.

- Microwave ingredients.

- Finally, combine until it's no longer sticky. However, do this step gradually so as to not go overboard
- If it loses its shine add a dab of coconut oil to it.
- If it starts getting hard. Microwave it for about 10-15 seconds.
Notes
I can't reiterate enough how hot this comes out of the microwave so please be careful when handling the melted candy corn mixture.
