Who says you have to choose when it comes to dessert? We combined a few of our favorites and came up with this glorious treat. Trust me when I say that these Oreo Rice Krispie Treats are going to be your new favorite grab-and-go dessert!
Oreo Rice Krispies Treats
My house is a house divided into sweets and treats. Some of us like cookies, some of us like cereal bars, and some of us prefer pie. But the one thing that we do agree on? There’s no such thing as a bad dessert.
If you’re an Oreo fan (and who isn’t?), you’re going to love this fun twist on a classic treat—Oreo Rice Krispies Treats! We all know and love the gooey marshmallow goodness of the basic Rice Krispie treat recipe, but this version takes it to the next level by adding crunchy Oreo cookie pieces for a truly irresistible sweet treat. Whether you’re whipping up a quick dessert for game night or prepping cereal treats for a birthday bash, this easy dessert recipe is a total crowd pleaser.
This Oreo version is everything you love about gooey marshmallow treats—just elevated with the rich chocolatey flavor of chocolate sandwich cookies. Made right on the stovetop in a large pot over medium heat, the melted marshmallow mixture comes together in minutes. Just mix in crispy rice cereal, fold in those crushed Oreos (regular or gluten-free Oreos work great!), and press the mixture into a prepared pan lined with parchment paper. You’ll want to use a greased spatula or non-stick cooking spray to help get that even layer.
The only thing hard about this recipe? Waiting for the treats to cool before slicing with a sharp knife and devouring the whole pan! These are perfect for school lunches, bake sales, or a fun TikTok-worthy kitchen project with the kids. You can even toss in white chocolate chips or extra marshmallows if you’re feeling fancy.

Allow to cool for at least 2 hours before slicing and serving.
How do I store Rice Krispy treats?
To keep them fresh, be sure to store them in an airtight container and keep them at room temperature. You don’t have to store them in the fridge, but you can if you want to.
Do I need to grease the pan before adding the mixture?
You shouldn’t have to because of the melted butter that’s in the mixture, but if you’re worried about them sticking to the dish, just rub some butter around lightly before pouring the mixture in.
What is the best way to crush Oreos quickly?
You have options! You can put the Oreos directly into a blender and let it do all the hard work, or you can have the kids help out and crush the cookies. To do this, just put a few Oreos in a bag and seal it well. Then give the kids a rolling pin and tell them to get to work!
