Mini Monkey Breads
I love the taste and flavor of monkey bread. Theres’ nothing quite like that sweet glaze paired up with the crust of that baked cinnamon and sugar. It’s one of my favorite breakfast recipes that everyone in the family loves. You can easily pair this with my Bacon & Pancake Muffins for a super fun and easy breakfast treat.
And even though I eat these for breakfast, don’t forget that they’re perfect for any time of the day. Dessert time is the perfect time to eat these as well!
Why is it called monkey bread?
Funny name but makes sense….it’s because when you eat monkey bread, you are actually picking the pieces much like a monkey picks through his or her own food.
Now when you’re eating this recipe, you’ll feel like you’re one with the monkeys! (but I promise you that this will taste way better than anything that they’re eating!)
Do you have to add the glaze to the top?
It’s optional but it’s really, really good. I like it because it just adds that extra layer of sweetness that takes the flavor totally over the top. If you’re not a fan of things that are overly sweet, you can skip the glaze completely and it’s still yummy.
