Hilton Orlando: A Fun Family Getaway in Orlando Florida

Orlando, Florida.  This is just where I want to be when I need to get away from regular life for a while.  Who doesn’t love to escape to theme park heaven!!  Well, last weekend I checked into the Hilton Orlando with my family for a fun weekend getaway and to check out their awesome pools.  The Hilton Orlando has a great location near International Drive, a short drive to Seaworld, Universal Studios, and Disney World.  At check in, I was greeted by the warm and friendly staff and then took some time to look around the beautiful lobby.

 

We checked into our suite and was greeted by this lovely chocolate welcome platter.  It had a delicious chocolate covered strawberry, a macaron dipped in chocolate, a pistachio chocolate, a piece of ginger candy, all adorned with handmade chocolate decorations.

We settled into our rooms and then decided to explore the hotel.  The Scratch Market had just debuted that same day so we headed over there for a quick snack.  Look at the delicious gelato display!

I was feeling like I needed a little pick-me-up, so I opted for the Affogato made with vanilla bean gelato and topped with a shot of fresh Lavazza espresso.

The kids loved their snack, too!

Scratch Market is a great place to pick up a quick coffee, pizza, pastries, sandwiches, and gourmet snacks.

Later that afternoon we popped into David’s Club Bar & Grill for some drinks and appetizers.  This is a great place to relax with a glass of wine and a bite to eat.  We sat at a beautiful spot near the bar and enjoyed our garlic & parmesan wings while the kids played a game of pool at the billiard table.

Now, it was the perfect time to head outdoors for just a bit to enjoy our first dip in the pool.

Next morning, I was super excited.  The sun was shining, it was a gorgeous day, and we had a pool-side cabana rented for the day.  Florida summers can get very hot and having a cabana to hang out in was amazing.  It felt so luxurious having a comfy place to relax , order cocktails and food , and get out of the sun for a bit.

The outdoor pool area at the Hilton Orlando is gorgeous!  We had a blast floating down the lazy river and hanging out in the pools all day.  My boys loved the water slide!  Hilton Orlando has a main pool, a jacuzzi, a great lazy river, and a quiet pool for those wanting a bit more relaxation.

After all that fun, we headed back to our rooms to shower and spend the evening at EPCOT, which was only a short 15 minute drive away.

The next morning, we had a delicious breakfast at The Bistro.  We enjoyed made to order omelets, artisan cheeses, pastries, and plenty of coffee to get us going.  Check out my son’s hot chocolate and bagel combo.
