Sonic Ocean Water Poke Cake

Sonic is one of my favorite fast food restaurants around. How can one resist the delicious variety of drinks they have there. Like their Cherry limeade which is crazy easy to copy at home. .  I also love making poke cakes. To me they are the easiest kind of desserts around.  I prefer them for any event and even birthday party. I’ve made this Chocolate & Caramel Heath bar Poke cake a million times for birthdays in our home. 

That’s why I loved the idea of making this Sonic Ocean Water Poke cake when I ran across the packets of Sonic ocean water gelatin in the store. My creative juices got the best of me because hello the best of both worlds! 

Ocean Water Poke Cake

This is the perfect summer recipe to make just because. It’s also the perfect cake for an ocean themed kids  party. Just add some gummy sharks and some crafts like my Mermaid Toilet paper roll or Pirate toilet paper roll craft and you’re all set! 

So read on to see how crazy easy this recipe is to make! 

What you need to make an Ocean Water Poke cake :

A of box white cake mix, prepared

1 package Sonic Ocean Water gelatin

1½ cups boiling water

2 containers white icing

Blue food coloring

How to make a Sonic Ocean Water Poke Cake

Prepare the cake according to package instructions and allow to cool completely.

Use a fork to poke holes all over the cake.Ocean Water Poke Cake

Combine the Ocean Water gelatin and boiling water and stir until the gelatin is completely dissolved.Ocean Water Poke Cake

Allow to cool slightly, the pour over the top of the cake.

Place the cake in the refrigerator to chill for at least one hour.

Combine one container of icing with blue food coloring,Ocean Water Poke Cake

then scoop the blue and white icing onto the cake, alternating between the two colors.

Spread the icing across the cake to swirl the two colors together.

Slice into 12 slices and serve.
