Pregnancy can be hard on the body but with these Must Have Pregnancy Essentials life can be made much easier.
Pregnancy is a beautiful time in a woman’s life, but it’s also one of the most exhausting times as well. I am pregnant with #6 ,which means I’ve done this a few times already. I’ve come to realize that although there’s a lot of great products out there that claim to be “must haves” (and may be pretty fantastic), they really aren’t necessary. Here are the ones that have helped me navigate through 6 pregnancies. Most important they are products you will probably use post pregnancy, because let’s face it #FourthTrimester. So check out this list of Must Have Pregnancy Essentials.
Comfortable Maternity Jeans/leggings: Every pregnant mom always feels the most discomfort (obviously) in their stomach region. So having pants/leggings that help them feel comfortable when out and about is a must. Jeans with a belly panel is a must, some are great because they can be used from the beginning to the end you just have to adjust the belly panel. Leggings are just comfortable and are fantastic with a larger shirt or dress keeping you stylish and comfy.
Comfortable Shoes (That also look good): You’re going to be on your feet a lot. So it’s important to be comfortable and looking good. One pair of shoes that I have fallen in love with this pregnancy are my Tieks. They dress up or dress down for any occasion and best of all they’re flat which keeps me from falling and well they are so comfortable that they help with swelling feet. The best part, Tieks are so fantastic I promise you, you’ll use them after you have baby because Busy Moms Need Tieks.
Good Stretch cream/lotion: Your body will stretch and your skin will dry up quickly. So it’s important to lather up with tummy butter. One overwhelming favorite from many of my readers when asked (and one that I loved as well is Palmer’s Tummy butter. Best of all at around $8 this product is not only fantastic on your body but
Water Bottle: A huge problem for pregnant women is lack of hydration. Many even end up at their doctors office or emergency room because they think they’re in labor and it turns out they’re really just dehydrated. So it’s important to stay hydrated with a good water bottle close by at all times. Grab a bottle that is multi use to help make life easier for you. One really neat one is the Multi flask that allows you to use it for hot tea, coffee and fruit infused water. So you can definitely enjoy this bottle even after your precious little one arrives.
Body Pillow: This is a must have especially towards the 2-3rd trimester when your body starts doing some interesting things. Having a body pillow to cradle you will be a huge help. The Leachco Back and Belly pillow is one of those that fit the bill just perfectly helping both your belly and back have the much needed rest you need.
Comfortable Bra/Underwear: You would think this was a given but it needs to be reiterated, especially with an expanding waist line. One item I love is Pregnancy/Nursing Tank Tops. They give me great support in the tummy area and once baby gets here they are fantastic for nursing.
Healthy Pregnancy Snacks: You will eat, a lot. So make sure you have healthy treats on hand. Try to stick to Kind bars or any other product that is higher in protein. Larabars are fantastic to keep with you on hand and really are great about curving cravings.
Good Pregnancy Vitamins: I have major issues when it comes to vitamins. I hate swallowing pills. So if I can enjoy my Prenatal Vitamin, well that’s a win. After trying tons of vitamins out I have to say my favorites have become Smarty Pants Prenatal. They have a new formula without the sugar coating which make them even more fantastic. These actually make it easy to take my vitamins. Because, they are filled with all the fantastic vitamins and minerals necessary for a healthy pregnancy, they get a 4 star rating in my book. Grab them at Amazon for a great low price as well.
Panty Liners:Your bladder will become your own worst enemy during pregnancy especially towards the last few months. So make sure you are ready for any accidents or that icky discharge that pregnancy likes to bring. Let’s face it our body really does like to push our comfort limits to no end.
Morning Sickness relief: Some people are blessed with no morning sickness their whole pregnancy, some get it bad the first few months (Hands raised) others have it the whole pregnancy. There are some great ways to help fight morning sickness. You can check out my complete list here.
Rice Heating pad: This is something that was awesome to take with me wherever I went. This is especially helpful when everything starts to hurt. You can do some more elaborate Rice Heating pads if your sewing skills are awesome, but you can easily fill a sock with rice and tie or stitch the end. Stick that puppy in the Microwave for about a minute and you have a heating pad you can take anywhere.
Black (comfortable) Maternity dress: I always joke that black is slimming, especially during pregnancy. However, let’s face it you need a dress that you can slip on quickly, that fits perfectly and you can wear anywhere. Throw own your Tieks and your ready to head out the door. That’s why a comfortable pregnancy dress (preferably in black) is a must. If it gets colder throw on some leggings, if it’s hotter wear as is. Most important it’s got ample room to grown. Once baby comes, chances are you’ll still wear it while your waistline goes back to it’s somewhat original size..or in my case not but still perfect to make you look slimmer 🙂
Pregnancy can and will push your comfort levels to the max. After 6 kids my body has changed in ways I never thought it would. That being said, making the most out of pregnancy and finding products that will help make this time easier is the best thing you can do for yourself and your growing baby.

This is a great list. These are great suggestions for all pregnant mommies. Bring comfortable is key. Staying hydrated and taking prenatals is good for mom and baby. If you had more insight i will greatly appreciate it.

I tried those vitamins this time around , and really liked them! I’m definitely lacking on staying hydrated this time around! And I think this time I will be splurging on a couple of comfortable nursing bras!

Yes this list is dead on! Bring comfortable (as much as you can!) is key! Staying hydrated and taking prenatals is good for mom and baby. Forgetting anti nauseous things makes the first trimester rough! Sour candies always help me.

I had to have my nausea medicine & Ginger Ale with me all the time! I had all day, every day morning sickness with my first & now it’s shaping up to be the same with my second!

While Tieks sound amazing they are alittle above my price point. Any suggestions on budget friendly shoes?

Crocs has a great ballet flat that is super comfortable. Not as versatile as Tieks but look great as well 🙂
