First Birthdays are always a joyous event.
Can you believe it? 4.0 will be 1 year old soon! I feel like this year has been a whirlwind! Between all the milestones and joy he’s brought to our lives, I continue to count my blessings every day. Because 1st birthdays are so special I’ve begun looking at ideas for his first birthday smash cake. With all the options out there it’s so hard to make the perfect choice! I’ve always made sure my little ones enjoy their smash cake and I always try to make it a special one! So now I am looking for the perfect one for my little man!
Here are a few of my favorites I’ve found so far:
And my personal favorite:
Aren’t these cute? I can’t decide which one to pick for my little guy’s special day. Making it though will be easy, thanks to Betty Crocker because of the great infographic available on how to make the cutest smash cake around!
What do you remember most about your little one’s first birthday? Did you let them smash their cake or did you try to keep it clean? If you were to have another first birthday party (or maybe are already planning on celebrating another one!), which Betty Crocker smash cake would you make?

We did the same #1 smash cake for my daughter on her past birthday. We however didn’t let her smash the entire cake, just her piece. It was too good! I actually made it a double layer and in between layers I threw some bananas in the middle, it was soooo good! The bananas really infused the flavor of the cake!

Hooray! These are cute ideas. My son had a smash cake for his first birthday. I got both the regular cake and matching smash cake at Whole Foods and they were SO cute. My daughter is about to turn one now so I’m looking for ideas for my aunt, who will be making the cakes. Fantastic! Thanks!

I adore the blue sprinkles cake! My husband made a small applesauce cake for our son’s cake smash and topped it with barely-sweetened whipped cream frosting. Our son barely touched the cake during his cake smash photo session. I had to stick his hands in there to get some cute photos! Whoda thought my boy didn’t like to get dirty! 🙂

I love the simple sprinkle cake! Our second baby isn’t due until Dec. 6, so we have over a year to worry about his/her first birthday, but it’s still fun to look at cake ideas! I’ll probably make a white or yellow cake, just because I hate trying to clean up a chocolatey mess. And I love the suggestions of using fruit as topping/decoration.

I LOVE the sprinkles one! We’re having my little girl’s first birthday party (and my son’s second) this weekend so I’ll have to try this! Thanks!

I love the first cake, with the confetti sprinkles. It’s so simple, but still very cute. My daughter is only 5 months, but I want to do something cute like this for her 1/2 birthday next month…even though I don’t give her solids yet. Haha, maybe I’ll start giving her solids when she’s 6 months. That’ll be her awesome 1/2 birthday present.
