Turkey Toilet Paper Roll Craft : A Preschool Thanksgiving Craft Idea

Preschool really is one of my favorite teaching experiences. It’s when everything is so new, adventurous and fun. Even the smallest of projects are a blast thanks to the fun little preschoolers can have. 5.0 has been taking an art class on Mondays at the YMCA. This class is fantastic because it lets him socialize with other kids his age. Learn how to listen to a teacher. Create fun projects and most important for me I get to meet cool moms swimming in the trenches like I am. 

This class has been such a blast and awakened in him a love of art, which I’m running with. So whenever we leave the class we head to the Dollar Store and stock up on fun arts and craft materials to continue the fun at home.

With Thanksgiving around the corner this Turkey Toilet paper roll craft  project is definitley one I was excited to make with him.

This craft is so easy to make and how could you not fall in love with this adorable little face?

5.0 is my quieter/low key dude who likes to play with cars and action figures so in making these I knew the fun wouldn’t stop when they were completed. 

I was right, he’s enjoyed this Turkey Toilet paper roll craft so much. So read on to find out how easy it is to make these fun little Feather Friends out of Toilet paper rolls making them a fun Thanksgiving Craft idea.

How to make Turkey Toilet Paper Roll Craft

 

I should add, I bought all the materials to make these turkeys at the Dollar Store except for the toilet paper roll which having 6 kids I have an abundance off.

What you’ll need to make Turkey Toilet Paper Roll Crafts

Toilet paper rolls

Brown washable paint

Googly eyes

Glue

Fall Leaves (Real or fake) we bought a pack at the dollar store that was perfect for this project. 

Red and orange (or yellow) construction paper

1. Begin by coloring the toilet paper roll brown.
2. Glue the “wings” on the back of the toilet paper roll                                                                          ie: the leaves.                                                       
3. Wait for them to dry a few minutes.
4. Then Glue on the eyes to the toilet paper roll. I get two different bags of eyes at the Dollar Tree that have the usual Black googly eyes and they also have some colorful ones. They come in Blue,pink and green. Pink is a big creepy for a turkey but the other ones are cute options.
5. Make a beak out of the orange construction paper (you can use yellow as well) I just cut out a small triangle.
6. Then Make a Gobbler by cutting a long rectangle out of the red construction paper and folding it in half to look like a ribbon.
7. Then Glue on the beak to the turkey gobbler 
8. Finally glue to the toilet paper roll and you have an adorable little feathered friend.
