Riddles are a fun way to get the brain going. It’s always fun to think outside of the box and help you get the neurons firing up. As a society we enjoy having answers given quickly or having the answer at our reach. That’s why I love riddles because they make me take two seconds to think about something and trouble shoot the answer.
Did you know riddles are actually great for children?
YES! You can actually teach your child so many valuable lessons by introducing them to riddles!
- They teach humor. Let’s face it sometimes the answers are so silly you need to laugh at it.
- Reading Comprehension.They need to actually read it a few times to get the answer because sometimes it’s just staring them in the face.
- Bonding: Sitting down and talking to your children is important, why not do it with humor?
- Expands their vocabulary: Many times the riddle will teach them vocabulary words that they would have never used before. (Clean ones of course!)
- Get’s the brain going: Let’s face it Riddles make you think. You get to sit down and say hey, How is this possible? For kids this is a valuable lesson because its not always one that’s easy to get to.

Answer: You can’t take a picture with a wooden leg. You need a camera (or iPad or cell phone) to take a picture. 🙂 See! The answer was an obvious one but I’m sure your mind started thinking about silly laws or something incredibly far fetched. I got this one correct, that was the first thing I thought, I can’t use a wooden leg to take a picture. The second thing that I thought was that maybe theydon’t make artificial legs out of wood, so a man wouldn’t have a wooden leg. Thank you for sharing this riddle, and keep them coming.
