Halloween Spider Cookies
When the Halloween season rolls around, we’re all about the snacks. In our house, we tend to celebrate holidays and fun times of the year with food, crafts, and family – and that’s a winning trio that I don’t want to ever lose.
The really great part about making peanut butter spider cookies is that you get even more of that peanut butter flavoring than before!
For most of our Halloween recipes (and our other holiday treats), we spend time together in the kitchen bonding and cooking – and snacking our way through all of them!
If you’re looking for a fun treat for the kids, this is it. It’s not only great for a Halloween-themed cookie, but you can also use it for class parties and more!

How to make Halloween Spider Cookies
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and baking powder. Set aside.
In a separate bowl, beat together the sugar, brown sugar, peanut butter, and butter until smooth and creamy. Add the egg and vanilla and beat to combine.
Add the flour mixture to the sugar mixture and beat to combine.
Use a tablespoon or cookie scoop to scoop the dough and roll it into a ball. Roll the ball in the sugar.
Place each cookie ball on the lined baking sheet. Lightly press the cookie down with your hand to flatten it, then bake for 8 to 10 minutes.
Immediately after removing the cookies from the oven, press a peanut butter cup into the top of each cookie.
Allow the cookies to cool for five minutes on the baking sheet, then transfer the cookies to a wire cooling rack to cool completely.
When the cookies are cooled, place the melted chocolate chips in a piping bag and pipe eight legs on the sides of each peanut butter cup. Use the melted chocolate to attach two eyes to the top of each peanut butter cup.
Allow the chocolate to cool and harden before serving.
How do you store baked cookies to keep them fresh?
You can store these cookies in an airtight container at room temperature. Keeping them locked tight will keep them fresh for 2-3 days.
