This summer my family took an amazing vacation to Camelback Resort it was such an unbelievable experience that we’re still talking about. With so many different gifts you can give your family why not give the gift of an experience with Camelback resort?
Scenic Camelback Resort in the Pocono Mountains is a memorable escape for families with kids during December weekends and all through the holiday break time. The fun starts on Friday, December 4, with a tree lighting event that includes the arrival of Santa Claus.
There are special holiday happenings planned for Lodge and dining guests only scheduled from now until December 30.
Throughout the resort, inside and out, holiday decorations include a sled and deer at the porte-cochère, twinkling lights adorning the trees and all will be very merry, bright and white.
Of course, a family trip to Camelback will include a choice of snow activities – skiing, snowshoeing, snowtubing.
Aquatopia, the vast indoor waterpark is another not-to-miss attraction. A bonus for Lodge guests throughout the season is the perk of complimentary access to Aquatopia Waterpark.
Special Family Camelback Activities During The Holidays
Starting the celebrating off will be the community tree lighting and the arrival of Santa on Friday, December 4, from 7 to 9 p.m. with hot drinks and sweet treats available. Festive weekend experiences for Lodge and dining guests only include Elf Reading of Christmas classics to children, starting on Friday, December 4, and continuing every Friday and Saturday until December 19. Cookies and Milk served by Santa’s elves will take place in the Lodge Lobby also on Fridays and Saturdays, beginning on December 4.
Photos with Santa in his sleigh happen every Saturday and Sunday in December outside from 8 a.m. to noon. Starting December 10, the Hanukkah Celebration features games, songs and the lighting of the menorah, taking place in the Lobby, seven nights of the holiday.

Then during Christmas Break, there are Cookies and Milk in the Lobby on December 23, Gingerbread Decorating on December 24 for $12, as well as Storytime with Mrs. Claus. On Christmas there will be Christmas Flapjacks at breakfast, and the evening Dive-In Movie on a giant screen at Aquatopia. On the 26th Morning Tunes is when families can jam out in their jammies, and more fun includes Paint & Sip and Aquatopia Glow Night with a DJ, hula hoops, slushies and a Flow Rider contest.
The 27th brings an Early Bird Scavenger Hunt around the resort in the afternoon and a Kids’ Pardee with music, dancing and cotton candy. On the 28th there are special Yoga with all ages welcome and a Reptile Show with a photo opportunity to capture the memory. On the 29th kids see an enthralling Magic Show. And on December 30th there are also Yoga and Ice Cream and Dip where families top off their favorite scoops as a grab and go special holiday treat.
Family Snow Fun and Frolicking
Camelback offers a myriad of exceptional ski and snow activities for children and adults. The Snowtubing Park is the largest in the U.S. It features all-lit nighttime Galactic tubing complete with music and disco lighting, up to 42 lightning fast lanes and two magic carpet lifts. The new Sunbowl Quad Lift brings families to Camelback Mountain Village. It is a great convenience for access after kids visit the newly redesigned ski school SnowClub at Mountain Adventures.
Special holiday family thrills during Christmas Break include the Great Snowtubing Race at the snowtubing park on December 27, Snowshoeing in the morning on December 28, 29 and 30, and A Dashing Through the Snow event is offered on December 28 and December 30. Tubing Tunes will happen on Tuesday, December 29 from 1 to 3 p.m. where guests will interact with the staff, a DJ and fun characters down at snowtubing.
Health and Safety during your Camelback Resort Vacation
To ensure the safety of guests and employees, all guests are greeted with a wellness screening . This includes a temperature check with a no-touch infrared thermometer . They are also asked to wear a mask and comply with six-foot physical distancing policies. All snow adventure seekers will need to reserve their mountain activity times. You can do that by purchasing advanced lift tickets and passes online or via the resort’s app.
