Toy Wish list…

Sharing is caring!

Was there a toy or thing you always wanted as a child either for a holiday, on your birthday or just because and never got?

Mine was an easy bake oven. I always wanted one and somehow Santa never put it on the old sled. Maybe that’s why I love baking so much now 🙂

What was yours? Did you have a toy you just never got?

All my friends had an easy bake oven, and I was jealous of course. There were a lot of toys that I had wanted and never got as I’m sure a lot of folks can relate. But when I got my Nintendo, all was well in the world again lol.

Moon bounce shoes! They were like mini trampolines for your feet and it seemed like everyone but me had them. My mom said she wouldn’t get them because they were too dangerous. That never made sense to my ten year old self because I already had a pogo stick, skip-it, and regular trampoline and those were just as dangerous.

I always wanted an American Girl doll…I loved the books and had most of those, but the dolls- which were just coming out at that point- were just too expensive. I hope to one day be able to buy one for my daughter if she’d like 🙂

I was obsessed with Barbie dolls. I wanted every single one, but my mom was a 60s hippie turned 80s feminist and thought barbies were bad role models for little girls. Blech.

I always wanted Barbies but my parents thought they promoted a negative self-image for girls (not saying I disagree now, I just wanted them because everyone else had them but me). They finally caved and bought me some for a birthday but by then I didn’t really want them any more.

I always wanted a trampoline! It was always on my list every single year. Every Christmas and birthday I would go look outside in the backyard and it was never there. The only thing I ever wanted. I loved jumping on my cousins trampoline and I lived on it. Mom would not let us have one because they are too “dangerous”. Now I own my own in my own backyard and my 5 yr old and I love it all year round!!!
