    Fall Inspired Baby Food Recipes with a Latin Flair

    Fall brings a bountiful supply of delicious fruits and vegetables that change the face of many of our meals. You can find many people enjoying pumpkin everything and tasty soups and desserts that capture the season’s colors and tastes. So it’s only natural for the wonderful people at Target to put together a fun list of baby recipes from around the blogosphere you can make for your little one that includes delicious fall tastes with a hint of Latin flair.

    Check out these easy Latin-inspired baby food recipes just in time for fall! From pumpkins to apples, the following recipes feature simple ingredients that can be found at home or at your local Target store – allowing you to mix and match between fresh and packaged ingredients. As  baby  begins to experiment with flavors, you can even add a dash of mild spices like cinnamon to introduce your baby to new flavors and give them a palate for delicious and exotic foods.

    Sweet Potato Coconut Puree (3-6 mos) recipe inspired by Weelicious

    Ingredients

     

    Preparation

    1. Place all the ingredients in a Baby Bullet by Magic Bullet Complete Baby Food Prep System*.
    2. Puree until smooth.
    3. Serve.

    -Place in Beaba Multiportions Freezer Tray for storage.

     

    Guava Puree (3-6mos) – recipe inspired by Yummy Tummy

    Ingredients

    • 3 guavas

     

    Preparation

    1. Simmer guavas in a ½ cup of water until nice and soft.
    2. Blend in the blender.
    3. Put it through a strainer to get rid of the seeds.
    4. Cool and serve.

    Butternut Squash and Plantain Puree (3-6 mos) recipe inspired by Wholesome Baby Food

    Ingredients

    • 6 oz of chicken stock

     

    Preparation

    1. Put the chopped plantain into a saucepan and pour in the chicken broth.
    2. Bring the mixture to the boil, then lower the heat.
    3. Simmer for around 10 minutes, until the plantains are fork tender (like cooked potato) and drain.
    4. Place cooked plantain with up & up® Baby Food Butternut Squash Green Beans in a Baby Bullet by Magic Bullet Complete Baby Food Prep System* and puree until smooth.
    5. Cool and serve.

    Arroz con Leche Inspired Pumpkin Puree (6-9 mos)

    Ingredients

     

    Preparation

    1. Place all the ingredients in a Baby Bullet by Magic Bullet Complete Baby Food Prep System*.
    2. Puree until smooth.
    3. Serve.

    Pureed chicken with yucca (9-12 mos) inspired by the Tiki Tiki blog

    Ingredients

    • 1 chicken thigh
    • 1 tablespoon olive oil
    • 1-medium carrot, chopped
    • 1/2 celery stalk, chopped
    • 1/2 yucca, peeled and chopped
    • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
    • 1 cup chicken stock or broth

     

    Preparation

    1. Roast chicken thigh skin-on for about 30 minutes, until done.
    2. Allow to cool.
    3. Remove the skin and discard.
    4. Remove the meat from the bone and chop into small pieces.
    5. In a small pan, cook onion in olive oil until soft.
    6. Add the chicken, carrot, celery, yucca, tomato paste and stock to the pan. Bring to a simmer, then cover and cook on low heat until the carrot is very tender, about 20 minutes.
    7. Place all the ingredients in a Baby Bullet by Magic Bullet Complete Baby Food Prep System*.
    8. Puree this mixture until very smooth.
