Leap Reader is the complete learn-to read -and write solution that combines three essential literacy skills: reading, writing and listening. Leap Reader is designed to enhance vocabulary development and   reading comprehensions to help children become confident, independent readers and writers.

Recently I had the opportunity to host a Leap Reader Ready, Set, Read & Write Party. As many of you know I’m a homeschooling mom and I am always looking for innovative ways in which I can awaken a love for learning in my children. After teaching Special Education for 9 years I realized that not all children learn the same and what may work for one child may not always work for another. Traditional education bases itself on memorization but not all learners do well with that method. There are many types of learning styles from auditory, to visual to tactile. This set is impressive because it targets all 3 styles at one time making the learning experience that much more successful.

I received a Party Kit from Leap Frog with the following items:

  • Two (2) LeapReaders™
    • Pre-loaded with LeapReader™ books and learning apps
    • Also includes 2 USB cords for charging your LeapReaders prior to your party (2 hours of battery charging is recommended for each device)
  • LeapReader™ books including:
    • Learn to Write Letters With Mr. Pencil Writing Workbook
    • Talking Words Factory Writing Workbook
    • LeapFrog Disney-Pixar Monsters University 3D book
      • Also includes 16 pairs of LeapFrog Monsters University 3D glasses!
    • Get Ready for Kindergarten book
    • Talking Words Factory Flash Cards
    • Two LeapReader™ Sampler books

We Began with a Read Aloud with the older kids paired with the younger kids.

We then had fun playing Flashcard Mash up in which we used the Talking Words flashcards to bring each Flashcard to life! DSC02456

I then had the kids take turns using the Leap Read to read the Monsters University Book with the 3D glasses, which all the kids loved! DSC02454

The kids tried their hand at the Writing activities.  I loved seeing my son whom is always in a hurry to write and can be sloppy at times take pride using his Leap Reader/writer to write out the letters and words neatly.

Finally it was Fun Food time Complete with Tad and Scout cupcakes and Frog Juice!

Fun was had by all, not only with delicious treats and fun but learning centered around fun that allows them to  build the skills necessary to help in their educational foundation. Since the party my kids have played with their Leap Reader sets quite a bit. It is giving them a confidence I didn’t think they could have so early on. I have always been a fan of Leap Frog, trying these products out made me realize how wonderful and effective this program truly is.
