What officially makes it feel like summer?

Sharing is caring!

Living in Florida we get Summer weather year around however, there’s just something special about summer. To me it’s the kids getting done with school and having days to enjoy and go on vacations. So what sign officially clicks summer into your mind?

The obvious one would be the hot humid weather, but it starts feeling more like summer when the pool starts opening up, and the distribution of cool icy drinks and ice cream/sorbet becomes necessary. It starts feeling more like summer when the fireworks go off around the 4th of July, and you sit with your family eating a Bombpop as you are watching the fireworks. I plan on trying to keep cool this summer considering I will finish up the last 9 weeks of pregnancy during the hot, draining days of summer.

In the desert you know it’s summer when you have to put heavy winter blankets over the windows to keep the heat out, the a/c never turns off, and you’re hot inside even with the thermostat set at 75, if you turn on then”cold” water you get third degree burns…don’t touch it right away, let it run for 3-4 minutes. Ouch . Lol. But hey, it’s a dry heat. And the rest of the year is heaven.
