Joovy Moon Room

*Although I received this product free of charge, All opinions are 100% mine!

I’ve Used Joovy Products for a long time. There’s one thing I’ve come to realize from this company, every time I think a product is awesome Joovy comes and perfects it to the next level.

I’ve enjoyed the simple play yards my kids have. It serves its purpose. However when I got to try the Moon room I realized that this play yard was beyond a play yard it was a room!

Don’t get me wrong the size isn’t that of a room but for a small child it might as well be it. As most of my readers know I home school and there are times when 4.0 needs something to do that doesn’t involve getting into trouble. I can wear him all I want but sometimes he needs to just explore in a safe environment.  Thankfully the Moon Room found its way to my home and I am a fan!

It came packaged in the signature Joovy Box. A box to make any mama excited at the prospects of what you’ll find inside. As you can see the box isn’t huge but it’s not small either.

That’s because you will find the Moon room inside complete with a protective carry bag.

Once you remove the carry bag you will find the product is literally ready to use. The instruction manual is included in one of the slots on the inside of the bottom pane, but you really wont need it..

It snaps open and you are good to go. Just place the bottom panel in and you are set!

The  Moon Room Comes in 3 Colors Black, Charcoal, and Purple (the one I got).

The Joovy Moon Room is made of super strong mesh and 600D nylon fabric. The moon room covers over 10 square feet of floor space however, it’s unique design conserves the space so you aren’t stuck with a bulky gated piece.

And it comes with  a machine washable 100% cotton fitted sheet!

This play yard will allow your little one to enjoy quite time, fun time and most important safe time! DSC02784

The Joovy Moon Room is definitely the Must have Play Yard for any parent. This is one of those products I wish I would have had from kid #1. This couldn’t have come at a better time now that 4.0  has become an active little guy but still needs to be kept in safe. Especially when School time is going on.  The fun thing is, when he’s not in there you can catch my 3 year old inside with her favorite books and dolls.

You can get your very own Moon Room for $219.99 at

My son might actually be okay with this. He does not like being confined at all; anytime I put the baby gate up in his room he cries like, “Mom, I’m a peacock! You gotta let me fly!” (

This is such a cute design! I noticed you said it covers 10 square feet, but is that floor space? Space is a premium in our small apartment, but I just love the design! Very 2014. 🙂 Thanks for sharing.

Did I miss it, or did you say how much floor space this takes up? Floor space is such a premium in our little move-sight-unseen apartment.

This looks like a nice basic stripped down play yard, definitely more attractive than the ones you find at the big box stores. However, it lacks some of the convenient features of other brands, and the price is a bit steep. It certainly does look spacious, though.

I haven’t seen one of those before. Looks pretty neat. I like that it is bigger than most pack and plays, I always felt guilty when putting my littles in there for any amount of time. Maybe with something bigger, like the Joovy, I wouldn’t feel so guilty.

how does the size compare to a regular pack n play? I absolutely love that purple color!

This looks really cool. Is it as heavy as a typical pack n play? Also, when folded up in the carrying bag, is it about the same size as a pack n play? It’s too bad that it costs so much. That’s the only drawback I can see. Thanks for the review. I’ve always wondered about these!

My little one is just starting to get mobile and I’m already starting to see the appeal of a play yard such as this. The only issue is that our hose is so small that I’m not sure that we have the square footage available for such as thing. Still, I think it’s a great idea and we could still probably use it outside for a safe place to play while we are working in the yard.

Items have changed so much since I had my children. Our daughter is expecting her first later this year and I’ll have to show her the Moon Room. Amazing product.

Interesting! We have a regular pack and play and never use it. My DD is still small though and not mobile yet. As she grows, I’m sure we’d love something with a bit more playspace like the moon room! Love the color too.

This is awesome! I’ve never seen a play yard shaped like this one! We’ve got plenty of space in our house, so this would be too cool.

This is really cute. It wouldn’t work in my tiny house, but I really like its unconventional design. I could see my sister really using something like this with her super active babies.
